Clanawley, the ancient lands of the MacAuliffes, was a vast tract of land in the barony of Duhallow, in the northwest of County Cork. The photos include some of Taur, a mountain within Clanawley which was an important observation point for the MacAuliffes in time of conflict. From its summit they could see into four counties.
